Madelaine + Mike | Engagements

24 05 2012

Mike and Maddy got married a couple of weeks ago so I figure it’s about to time to post their engagement pics…behind much?!? 🙂

Madelaine and I have been friends since our freshman year of college at TCU.  We lived on the same floor of Colby Hall, joined the same sorority and had countless impromptu dance parties with our fantastic roommates.  She is a super sweet girl and I am so happy she found Mike.  Mike is a real man’s man.  He loves sports, brews his own beer but at the end of the day has a soft spot for a certain blonde.

Can you blame him?! Look as this beauty!

Snow Day | Austin

4 02 2011

What’s that?  Snow in Austin! Um yeah!  I know the weatherman had said all week that we would get snow on Friday but it was one of those “Oh I’ll believe it, when I see it” kind of things.  Well I see it and I believe it!  I’m so excited!!  Earlier this week I was feeling a little homesick/jealous of all the people in Fort Worth getting to enjoy the snow and have time off work but now…I’m in their boat.  Snow on the ground and work delayed for at least a few hours.  Time to post up on the couch with some hot chocolate and a good movie.

About froze my finger off writing in the snow….

Happy Snow Day ATX!!

Susan + Matt | Engagement

22 06 2010

When Suz called and asked me to take their engagement pictures I could not have been more excited!!  I’ve known Suz for a couple of years; we used to work together.  She was always dependable in work and in great YouTube entertainment.  ‘Don’t interrupt, rude!’, haha.  I met Matt through Suz and work happy hours.  Plus he knew a lot of my Air Force friends because he’s also in the Air Force.  Which is what has now taken the two of them to OK where Matt is going through pilot training.  And it’s where they left their clothes for the shoot… but they made due, borrowed a few things and voilà!

We started the shoot where they met, Texas Christian University.  Go Frogs!  They were neighbors in Fish Hall.  I don’t remember all the details but the main thing is they became friends, fell in love and now they’re getting married!  For the second part of the shoot we went to the Japanese Garden in the Botanic Gardens.  I lived in Fort Worth for 8 years and never once went to the Japanese Garden, what was I thinking?  It was beautiful, from the cute yet awkwardly crafted bridge to the stepping-stones Suz remembered walking on as a kid.   It was a great setting.

I want to give a special thanks to Matt and Suz!  You guys were such troopers!  They dealt with schedule changes, missing wardrobes and the Texas heat.  You guys rock!  I hope you enjoy the pictures!

The Prince or the Frog?? Decisions, decisions….

So after a few attempts at jumping pictures, Matt says to Suz, “Ok, we have to jump really high this time.” Suz of course agrees and jumps super high while Matt stands still.  Haha, nice set up Matt!

Thanks for stopping by!  I’d love to hear from you!  Send me a quick e-mail, larimieleigh@gmail.com.  I’ve got great summer rates for engagements, maternity and family portraits.

Sneak Peek | Susan + Matt

9 06 2010

I wanted to get these quick pics up before I left for Florida!!  I love vacay!   Here’s a sneak peek of the fun I had with Susan and Matt this weekend.  Enjoy!

I’ll put the full post up when I get back!  Have a great week everyone!

Snow!

11 02 2010

You know you’re from Texas when…you get excited about two inches of snow in February. 🙂

I heard the sound of water dripping on my window sill this morning and thought it was rain.  I got up to check it out and, much to my surprise, the snow the weatherman had predicted actually showed up and stuck!  Please enjoy the rarity that is Texas snow.

Week 4: Red

1 02 2010

The Zipper at Midway at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo at Will Rogers.  Not totally red but enough that it counted for me 🙂

Week 3: Window

19 01 2010

This week’s picture is the drive in window at the old Walton’s Package/Liquor Store.

I decided to photograph a building downtown I have admired for quite a while, Walton’s on 7th St.   I had made my way around the building taking pictures at every angle when God decided to intervene.  I just love when he sends people your way.  I looked up to see an older gentlemen walking toward me.  He said, “it’s a little cold to be taking pictures don’t you think?”  I agreed and we began to talk.  He had been riding by on his motorcycle, when he saw my car and decided to stop.  His name was Bob Walton Jr. and as it turned out he owned the building.   He offered to let me take a look at the inside.    I’ve always been so curious about the building so of course I said yes.

Bob was a very gentle soul and quite informative.  The building hadn’t be used in years except for storage.  It’s actually two buildings adjacent to each other.  One, a two story building that used to have a school on the second floor and a pawn shop on the first. The other was a package/liquor store.  He said the building was over 100 years old and he had owned it since the 70’s.  I really enjoyed the building’s history.  Although the City of Fort Worth has a different view.  With all of the new construction/renovations creeping up 7th Street, the city sees Walton’s as an eye sore.   Sadly, he said he was being fined every day the building remained standing so he was trying to sell the property.  I hate to see the building, along with its history, be torn down but it seems inevitable.  I think most photographers would agree, to find a building with old school charm in the middle of the city is refreshing.  I hope to use the location as much as possible before it’s gone.

Val + Andrea | Mother + Daughter

9 12 2009

Andrea and I have been friends since our freshmen year of college.  We both went potluck and the good Lord above put us together.  I really do feel blessed to have her in my life; not  only is she smart and beautiful, she’s also caring and awkwardly hilarious.  I love her and her family dearly.  So when she asked if I could help out with her Mom’s surprise party, I jumped at the chance.

“The Plan:” Mother, daughter photo shoot/ practice for me

The Actual Plan: Keep Val distracted until 5:45p.m. for her surprise birthday party being set up at her own house. 🙂

We had a fun time playing decoy.  Luckily during their outfit selection Val suggested Andrea and I come over for dinner since her husband, Mike, had been making so much food earlier that day (gee I wonder why he was doing that 😉 ).   So we didn’t even have to make anything up!  She invited us to her own party!   Once we got downtown we only had about an hour or two before Andrea and I had to start “acting hungry” so we made good use of our time.  We were able to test a couple of different spots and we even found a hillside straight out of Ireland right here in downtown Fort Worth.  Greatness, definitely using that site again!

Special thanks to these ladies and Happy Birthday to them both!!!   They did a fantastic job and I was very grateful for the opportunity, decoy or not.

Meet Garrison | Children

29 09 2009

Garrison is your typical little boy, full of energy, curiosity and absolutely no fear.  I ran into this little guy on a Sunday afternoon at Fred’s over off of 7th.  He was running around and having a great time.  Lucky for me, his parents were more than happy to let me take his picture.  So, special thanks goes out to them for giving me a chance to practice!  He was such a great sport.  I truly enjoyed trying to keep up with him.
