Madelaine + Mike | Engagements

24 05 2012

Mike and Maddy got married a couple of weeks ago so I figure it’s about to time to post their engagement pics…behind much?!? 🙂

Madelaine and I have been friends since our freshman year of college at TCU.  We lived on the same floor of Colby Hall, joined the same sorority and had countless impromptu dance parties with our fantastic roommates.  She is a super sweet girl and I am so happy she found Mike.  Mike is a real man’s man.  He loves sports, brews his own beer but at the end of the day has a soft spot for a certain blonde.

Can you blame him?! Look as this beauty!

Jasmine Star | Learning

4 02 2011

Monday! Monday! Monday! Was all I could think about last week becaaaaaaause last Monday I to got to meet the one and only Jasmine Star!!  For those non-photogs, Jasmine Star is onnnnly one of the TOP TEN wedding photographers In. The. World.  That’s right, The World.  A-mazing!

I remember the fist time my roomie, Katie, introduced me to the talent that is J*.  It was a Creative Live workshop. (Side note: Creative Live is a fantastic new online resource that I HIGHLY recommend you check out.  Lots of great workshops on lots of great topics)  Creative Live is awesome because the workshops are broadcast live(hence the name) and they also replay the workshops in the same day(after that you have to purchase to re-watch).  The J* workshop was 5 days, although, I only got to see a couple of the days due to scheduling.  One of those days I caught the replay which ran until about 4am…if you know me, then you know I find sleep to be very important.  I love sleep almost as much as I love food but, in this case, the missed zzzz’s were totally worth it.  Jasmine was absolutely incredible so when Kaite told me J* would be doing another workshop only a couple hours away from us I thought, we HAVE to go!!!

So last Monday we loaded up and headed over to College Station.  Not gonna lie, that’s the most excited I’ve ever been to head to CS.  Although, we left a little later than anticipated, got a little lost and were delayed just a bit by dinner we still made it just in time to see J* take the stage.

After all the fantastic tips it was time for the meet and greet!!!

Me and J* Ahhhh!!!(I might have been just the tiniest bit excited)

Katie and her idol

We also met JD, J*’s husband and her right hand man, also known as our new bff 🙂

The whole workshop was A-mazing!  Definitely worth every penny.

Thank you SO much to Jasmine and JD for coming to Texas!  You guys ROCK!  We had a great time!  Please come back soon but maybe come to Austin next time.  You can crash at our place. K? K! 😉

Meet Sage | Newborn Photography

26 11 2010

It’s time to meet Sage!  This little bundle of joy came beaming into the world on October 12th.

I did her shoot in two parts.  Her sneak peek and the picture below are from part one when she was about 10 days old.  So sweet.

The rest of the photos are from the second part when Sage was 3 weeks old.  Love.

Below: There is something about the raw emotion of this photo that is simply beautiful.

Sage might be young but she’s already a fashionista.  Her last outfit was a present her Aunt bought in Europe.  Her socks say, “made in France.”  Jealous?  Um, yes!  Too cute 🙂

Randy Rogers Band CD Release Party | Music

3 09 2010

Love the Randy Rogers Band! 1.) Because their music is great and 2.) Because they remain humble even though their latest CD, Burning the Day, debuted at #2 on the country music charts!!  Way to go guys!

The CD Release Party was held on August 23rd at The RANCH on West 6th.  It was a night full of celebration.  Not only was it Randy’s 2 year anniversary of life without a cigarette(Congrats!).  It was also his Birthday!!

Side note: Little known fact about me, I LOVE birthdays!  So this other guy and tried to rally the crowded to sing Happy Birthday to Randy but we totally failed.  Sorry Randy.

They played a couple of my old favorites “In My Arms Instead” and “Buy Myself a Chance” along with some new songs from the album.  I really like Burning the Day; it’s a great album!  I’ve had it playing in my car since I got it that night.  Still trying to decide which song I like best.  It’s a close race between “Interstate“-so sweet, “Damn the Rain” -classic heart-break, ” Too Late for Goodbye” -a stand up anthem, “I’ve Been Looking for You So Long” – love and “Starting Over for Last Time” -my new motto.  Ok so that’s almost the entire album… but those are my favorites.  If I had to pick, “Interstate” steals my heart every time.

Another cool thing, our passes from this show also get us into sound check for next week’s performance at Hill’s Cafe as part of KVET’s Free Texas Music Series.  CAN NOT wait!!  Super excited!  Don’t worry there will be pictures covering that event as well 🙂

Are you a RRB fan too?  Have you heard their new album??  If not, it’s a MUST!  If so, what’s your favorite track?

Week 30: Black and white portrait

3 09 2010

Meet my parents, Charlie and Kimberlie!  You may actually remember them from the Mi Familia shoot back in November.   They are always such good sports and are willing to help me out when I need a favor.  In this case, the favor was for them to pose for my week 30 assignment.  So after dinner we had a quick ten minute shoot.  I love my parents; they are always a lot of fun.  They had such a great time laughing and cutting up.  It’s easy to see their genuine love and respect for one another.

They will have been married for 28 years(Congrats guys!!) this month so I titled this picture,  A black and white portrait of 28 years of love.  🙂

To my parents:  I am very blessed to have you guys in my life!  Thank you so much for your constant love and support.  I love you guys!!

“Listen, my child, to your father’s instructions and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.  What you learn from them will crown you with grace and clothe you with honor.”  – Proverbs 1:8-9

Week 27: Feet

26 08 2010

What you’re probably thinking, ‘I have to look at post about feet before I get to see the post about cupcakes? Gross.”  What I’m thinking, ‘Get over it.  They’re baby feet and they’re cute.’ 🙂
