Wow. Soooo it’s been awhile since I posted about TYP but we’re still going strong. Membership growing everyday! These pics are from our July event at Kung Fu Saloon on West 6th. We partnered with Komen Young Professionals for the Cure. Although the photos are black and white we definitely represented with some pink to show our support in the fight against breast cancer.
Make sure to mark you calendars! Our next event is Thursday, September 22nd from 6-9pm at Red’s Porch on South Lamar. Can’t wait to see everyone! Feel free to use Twitter/Facebook to spread the word. 🙂
The more the merrier!

I woke up this morning with a craving for some sweet sweet pancakes…only problem was I didn’t have pancake mix. So I thought to myself, it can’t be that hard to make them from scratch. While it wasn’t hard to make them it was hard to eat them. I was totally disappointed with the recipe I got online.
Do not be fooled by their golden edges. They. were. terrrrrible.
I tried adding more sugar, that didn’t help.
I tried adding more milk, that didn’t help.
I tried adding more flour, that didn’t help.
Martha Stewart would be disappointed.
Feeling defeated, I threw them all out. I ended up having blackberries and toast with peanut butter and honey instead. Smooth recovery.
Should you want to try the recipe yourself(although not recommended):
1 1/2 c Flour
1 Egg
1 tbsp Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla
1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
1 tbsp Oil
1 1/2 c Sweet Milk
Mix together and enjoy with your favorite syrup(or not…just sayin) 🙂
If you have a better recipe please fill me in! I’m still craving some good pancakes…
I am so blessed to live in the Tree house and be surrounded by such creative roommates. Katie and I are both photographers and Anne is super talented in the floral department. Just check out her work. Beautiful.
Decided to have a little fun and turn this last pic in to a painting. Thoughts?
It was a close race but the winner of the very first Larimie Leigh Photography Giveway is……
Gorgeous
My number 1 pick came in number one in the votes. Congratulations to Jess, David and Catalina! You will be receiving a canvas of your favorite pic from your shoot!! My guess is the decision will be pretty easy, I know you guys love this picture as much as I do!
Thank you to everyone that voted!! I appreciate the feedback and I appreciate you spreading the word!
Make sure to check back, more pics and giveaways to come 🙂
The TYP February event was held at The Dogwood. They provided great drink specials from local vendors, Deep Eddy Vodka and Buckethead beer. We also had tasty treats courtesy of Austin Cake Studio and we enjoyed the amazing music of Mark Gibson. It was a great night!
Thank you Dogwood for having us! We enjoyed the specials and the great tunes!
Thank you to Holley of Austin Cake Studio for providing the delicious treats! If you’re looking for a local cake maker for your next event, give Holley a shout. She rocks!
Our next event will be March 10th from 6-9pm at Kung Fu Saloon(location tentative).
If you would like to feature your business at one of our events, please send me an e-mail at larimieleigh@gmail.com. I’m in charge of Venue Selection and Sponsorship for TYP Austin. We’re always looking to support local vendors. We love great locations, live music and especially food! Hope to hear from you!
Torchy’s Tacos speaks for itself. Delicious! Any location, any time. If you live in Austin and you haven’t eaten at Torchy’s, shame on you. You’re missin out.
My staple, the Green Chile Pork Taco.
Slow roasted pork carnitas simmered with green chiles and topped with queso fresco, cilantro, onions(- the onions on mine) and a wedge of lime. Served with tasty tomatillo sauce.
Coming in at a VERY close second, the Fried Avocado Taco.
Hand-battered fresh avocados fried and served with vegetarian refried beans, topped with pico, lettuce and cheese. Served with poblano sauce.
Their tag line is SO right. Their tacos are always…
